Cabin Fever Cure
Dear ##firstname[Friend]##,
##\keycode.DonorContentHTML##

We’ve all got a case of cabin fever here at Country. Winter is drawing to a close, and the promise of spring has us yearning for adventures beyond our snowy backyards.

Well, wildlife photographer Ron Niebrugge and his wife, Janine, gave us a temporary cure in the March issue of Country Extra when they shared photos of their whale-watching trip in Alaska’s Kenai Fjords National Park. If you’re not a subscriber, be sure to check out their story and a few other features you might be missing in Country Extra.

As always, be sure to visit us on Facebook and share your photos and stories with friends who love Country as much as you do.

One day while listening to my 4-year-old son, Michael, talk to his friend, I had to chuckle when I heard him ask, “Your dad took you to work? Did he forget you were a kid?”

Country-Inspired Recipes from Our Friends at Taste of Home
Vanilla French Toast

Vanilla French Toast

We discovered this recipe in Mexico. We couldn't figure out what made this French toast so delicious until we learned the secret was vanilla—one of Mexico's most popular flavorings. Since then, we've added a touch of vanilla to our waffle and pancake recipes. It makes them all very tasty. -Joe and Bobbi Schott, Castroville, Texas

Bacon ‘n’ Egg Sandwiches

Bacon ‘n’ Egg Sandwiches

I came across this unique grilled combo when I was digging in my mom's recipe box. The crisp bacon, hard-cooked eggs and crunchy green onions make these special sandwiches look impressive when company drops by for lunch. Best of all, they're a snap to assemble. -Ann Fuemmeler, Glasgow, Missouri
