Our judges found Debi Benson's Chunky Apple Cake as comforting as an old-fashioned bread pudding. “I’ve been serving it for years, and I always get asked for the recipe," says Debi. "I think the yummy butterscotch sauce makes it special. It’s really easy to prepare, too. I like to use green apples like Granny Smith.”
Desserts aren’t the only things Debi enjoys preparing. “My specialties change as I try out new recipes from Taste of Home,” she says. She and husband Steve, who’s a locomotive engineer and safety coordinator for a railroad, have five children and five grandchildren.

First Thanksgiving
I am having Thanksgiving at my house this year, and it's my first time. I have always gone to either my mother's or my boyfriend's mother's every year. I am trying to cover all the basics, while still giving the meal my own flare. (I would like Thanksgiving to be my holiday, permanently.) Does anyone have favorite recipes?
