Weight loss doesn't have to be synonymous with miserly meals and unsatisfying snacks. In fact, one of the radiant virtues of the Comfort Food Diet is that you really can enjoy three delicious meals a day (plus snacks, sides and beverages) and lose weight—without a constantly growling stomach. The recipes in this edition of the newsletter will get you started. Enjoy!

Helpful Healthy Tips

Are you really hungry...or dehydrated? Thirst can masquerade as hunger, so grab a glass of water before you raid the kitchen. You'll be surprised how quickly it can take the edge off of your appetite.
On days you don't feel like exercising (and we all have them), commit to just a five-minute workout. If you really feel like stopping after that, go ahead. But most folks find they're pumped to do five minutes more. And five more. And...hey, you're exercising!
Don't just keep a food diary—keep a mood diary. When you write down what you're eating, note how you're feeling too. Bad moods lead to bad foods and being more attuned to your feelings can help you head off food choices that can undermine healthy eating.
"I started the Comfort Food Diet after Christmas 2010. I am pleased to say that I have lost 45 pounds since then and continue to try new recipes from the cookbooks. For me, lots of water and protein keep me satisfied. Good luck to everyone on maintaining this new lifestyle."
