Featured recipe:
Warm Spinach Dip
I created this lighter version of a hot spinach dip after my husband and five kids raved about a similar appetizer at one of our favorite restaurants. TIP: It's great with tortilla chips, bagel chips or low-fat wheat crackers. —Debbie Marrone, Warner Robins, Georgia |

COOKBOOK CONNOISSEUR |
Get to Know...Vicky Wallace!
“The family that eats together, stays together” is a motto for Vicky Wallace of Castle Rock, Washington. “I have a large family that spends holidays together,” she says. “I cook for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas, as well as several get-togethers in between. Everyone says that I have too much food, but I just have to try all of the great recipes in my cookbook collection.”
Vicky started gathering cookbooks about 40 years ago and has somewhere between 800 and 1,000 titles. “I use my books regularly, but particularly when cooking for a crowd,” she adds. “I once had dinner for 47 guests, and I spent two weeks going through my books to create the menu. My collection sure came in handy then.
“Collecting cookbooks has been a wonderful hobby,” Vicky shares. “I love any book featuring down-home cooking.”
One of Vicky’s favorite recipes comes from Taste of Home Annual Recipes 2008. “This beautiful book features a wonderful Cascading Fruit Centerpiece.
“I have lots of fond memories about family,” Vicky concludes. “We all enjoy family-time very much, and the recipes in my collection have made those moments even more special.”
