Cherry Banana Mini Loaves
This recipe has been passed down from my mom's mother. The addition of chocolate chips and dried cherries makes it stand out from ordinary banana bread. These are terrific gifts from the kitchen. —Diane Doll, West Bend, Wisconsin |

COOKBOOK CONNOISSEUR |
Meet This Month’s
Cookbook Connoisseur, Arleta Russell! |
Last month we introduced Carolyn Kyzer of Alexander, Arkansas and told you about her collection of cookbooks. This month, meet Arleta Russell from Las Vegas, Nevada. At one point, Arleta had thousands of books in her collection.
Arleta’s love of cookbooks began when she was 12 years old. “I started cooking for my family, but Mother had only one cookbook,” shares Arleta. “My imagination was undernourished, and I guess I’ve been making up for lost time ever since!”
When Arleta’s daughter and son-in-law helped her move recently, they couldn’t believe how many boxes of cookbooks she had. “We counted 2,000 titles,” says Arleta. “I’ve since given a few boxes away, but I still have several boxes of cookbooks in storage, in my spare bedroom and two tall bookshelves full. I refuse to give away my Taste of Home cookbooks, however. They are, by far, the best of all my titles.” Submit your story!
