No matter what the holiday, our family always makes Eggs Benedict first thing in the morning whenever there's an occasion to celebrate. It's tradition. Who doesn't love serving up those special dishes that are meaningful to family and friends?

The December/January issue of Taste of Home hits up tasty traditions in a big way. There's the centerpiece Mustard & Cranberry Glazed Ham (always get a bone-in ham for the juiciest taste) with a buffet table full of sides. There are appetizers and snacks galore. I'm kind of partial to the Miniature Shepherd's Pies. And there are dressed-up drinks—some for adults only like the Citrus Champagne Sparkler. For the kids there are plenty of options, including Raspberry Hot Cocoa and Creamy Peppermint Punch.

And there's a short list of our favorite chocolate confections. Because chocolate seems to sneak its way into every issue of the magazine. It's one of my most celebrated ingredients.
