Dear ##firstname[Friend]##,

Quick. You've got just enough time to play with pumpkins and create a bewitching Halloween atmosphere before the haunted season is over. Black & White Spider Cookies, from the October issue of Taste of Home ought to do the trick.
Me? I prefer pies. No matter what the season. Love to eat pies. Love to bake 'em. In fact when my daughter was about to get braces, I bartered with the orthodontist with my pies. I baked a pie for his office—every month for two years—and he knocked off a chunk of my monthly bill for braces.
So I'm partial to the pie recipes in the October issue of Taste of Home, especially the Greek Honey Nut Pie. You might want to tag that pie recipe to serve for Thanksgiving.
I'm also in love with cookies, especially as we head toward the holiday season. This year we're encouraging everyone to share some cookie love with friends, relatives, neighbors, but especially with the men and women who serve our country. Our Giant Molasses Cookie has a taste of home in every bite and holds up well in the shipping process. We know. We sent hundreds to Marines in Afghanistan. Watch our video featuring Christine Hofmann-Bourque for some helpful packing and shipping tips.
And of course there's the annual Thanksgiving feast. You've got to try our Tangerine-Glazed Turkey. It's the moistest I've ever tasted. The secret lies in a buttery-basted cheesecloth "blanket" that hugs the turkey while it roasts.
So go to the kitchen now. Right now. And bake something for someone you love.
