Dear ##firstname[Friend]##,

I'm new to the Taste of Home family where I am now editor of the magazine. I've had much experience in the magazine industry, including editing a number of publications. My most recent project before starting here was to edit MasterChef magazine (look for it on newsstands now!).
I've learned a lot since I've started at the magazine including a new trick from the Taste of Home Test Kitchen just in time for apple season. It's a no-fuss, no-muss method of making bite-sized apple pies. Simply take a strip of pie pastry and wrap it around an apple wedge. There's butter, sugar and cinnamon involved too. And baking, of course. But the finished Bite-Size Apple Pies taste just like any American apple pie should. Check out the recipe, along with other apple recipes—sweet and savory—in the October issue of Taste of Home. There's even a guide to apple orchards across the country if you're up for picking your own apples.
As the weather takes on a slight chill, it's a good time to serve up some comfort food. We dish up plenty of weeknight dishes perfect for time-crunched evenings. I'm partial to the Crispy Baked Chicken served with Creamy Chive Mashed Potatoes.
Many of our recipes come from you, so keep 'em coming. In fact, we're looking for America's Best Home Cook 2012. Enter now for a chance at the top prize: $1,000.
Happy Cooking,
—Jeanne Ambrose,
Editor, Taste of Home
