Dear ##firstname[Friend]##,

You don't have to be a child of the '60s to know the lyrics to the hit song "Monster Mash." It has become a perennial favorite for all ages during the Halloween season. So, when cookbook authors Karen Tack and Alan Richardson suggested creating some colorful monster cupcakes for our October/November issue, we were thrilled.
Their four zany monsters (pgs. 28-30), with spiky frosting and googly eyes, are fun for the entire family to make—and eat. You don't even need any specialty tools or ingredients, just everyday items such as freezer bags, kitchen shears, marshmallows and M&Ms. Plus, Karen's instructions are easy to follow. If you need some help, though, Karen and Alan will walk you through each cupcake at tasteofhome.com. Just click on the how-to videos, and pretty soon, you'll be doing the monster mash, too.
Happy Halloween!
