From the Editor

Editor Ann KaiserDear ##firstname[Friend]##,

On Monday mornings, our staff members often chat about Taste of Home recipes they made over the weekend—always an inspiration for me to try them soon.

Folks were fighting over the Chocolate Malt Crispie Bars (Aug/Sept p. 51) that Associate Editor Cheri Mantz took to a family picnic, she reported. These yummy bars are also for great school lunches.

‘Secret’s in the Sauce’ BBQ Ribs

Associate Food Editor Annie Rundle chimed in with her report: “After my husband and I were done eating the Low Country Grill (Aug/Sept p.71), he said it was the best meal that I have made for him! It would be a fun recipe to serve guests as well—all hanging around the grill!”

As for me, I harvested leaves from my thriving basil plants to make Caroline’s Basil Boats ( from “Kids in the Kitchen)” (p. 31). They were a quick, fresh and fun appetizer when we had unexpected guests stop in.

Remember to turn to Taste of Home for outstanding summer recipes!
