A stop at a nearby farm market the other day had my mouth watering over bushels of beautiful apples! Remembering the wonderful Apple-Raisin Pork Chops and Dutch Apple Salad in the October/November magazine, I took plenty home to make those delightful autumn dishes.
My hubby, Louie, was quick to approve. He also reminded me he wants Boneyard Cookies for Halloween. He’s just a kid at heart.
Meantime, excitement is building around our new “Cooks Who Care” feature! After reading the inspiring story, more readers are contacting us about their own cooking outreach. If you “give back” by cooking for charitable or other special purposes or know of someone who does, we’d love to hear from you. Use this handy new E-mail address: cookswhocare@tasteofhome.com.
It’s been about a month since your October/November magazine arrived. As always, we’ve added more subscriber-only recipes and tips to Taste of Home Plus, including an Editor’s Favorite Meal made up of tried-and-true favorites, more make-ahead treats for Halloween, some Fabulous Fall Flavors that are lower in fat, sugar or salt, and additional Appetizers and Snacks to keep your holiday gatherings going.
As a bonus, we’ve included tips on serving up Second-Day Specialties and dessert recipes that demonstrate The Proof Is in the Pudding. Last but not least, there’s a sneak preview of your upcoming December/January magazine. Enjoy!
