Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spread nut meats out on a baking sheet and toast in oven for 10 minutes. Melt butter in a small skillet over moderate heat. Add toasted nuts and cook, stirring for 3 minutes. Remove pan from heat and set aside. Butter a large baking sheet, set aside. Combine granulated sugar and water in a small saucepan with a heavy bottom. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly to dissolve the sugar. After sugar dissolves, do not stir. Use a small brush dipped in cold water to brush down any sugar crystals clinging to sides of pan. Boil until syrup turns a golden color. Gently stir in the toasted nuts and butter. Quickly pour mixture onto the prepared baking pan. Allow to cool and Harden, then break into pieces. Store in an air-tight container.
