Belly Laughs From “Uncle Stan” Laurel
I had a fun weekend back in 1932, after my eldest sister, Betty, had married Ted Jefferson, the brother of Stan Laurel. Yes, the Stan of Laurel and Hardy fame.
He asked us to call him “Uncle Stan,” and that was okay by us. When he invited Betty and Ted, their kids and our family to visit for the weekend at his home on Palm Drive in Beverly Hills, we were all very excited.

Picture From the Past
On either side of our grandfather Vincent Tierney are my brother Chick Donofrio and me during the 1953 Hatters Day Parade in Danbury, Connecticut, known then as “Hat City” because it led the nation in hat-making for a very long time. Our grandfather worked for the John W. Green hat factory.
