I’m looking for ideas to keep hubby from eating an entire sleeve of crackers (yes, an entire sleeve). Answer the question over in our Facebook group. Last year I gave you a New Year’s Resolution: to share Taste of Home content first. I’m still seeing you guys grabbing links for members of our Facebook fan page from other sources. When someone asks for a recipe or an article, especially in the group made for Taste of Home fans, please make a point to offer something from Taste of Home before looking at other sources. We have over 55,000 recipes on our website and we’re currently adding over 600 articles and slideshows per month. If you need help finding something suitable, shoot me a message. As always, I’m happy to help you find just the right piece. There are a couple contests you should enter while the holidays are still fresh in your mind. Holiday Party Food Recipe Contest, enter by March 21st: We’re gearing up for the holidays, so we want your best recipes for festive events, from an intimate cocktail party to a New Year’s Eve blowout. Share your secret recipes for crowd-pleasing crab dip, cheese-filled pastry puffs or fresh tapenade on crostini. Do you go all-out for a family dinner—serving herb-crusted maple pork tenderloin, bourbon Brussels sprouts, champagne-cranberry salad and a three-tiered coconut confection—to keep everyone lingering at the table? If you wouldn’t dare host a holiday party without it, we want to try it—and you could win big! Send us your original recipes with around 12 or fewer ingredients and we’ll get the party started. If you wouldn’t dare host a holiday party without it, we want to try it! Be sure to read the contest rules. Slow Cooker Superstars Recipe Contest, enter by March 19th: When it’s simmer time, the cooking’s easy. We want to see your go-to simple slow-cooker recipes that always wow the crowd. Think busy-day chicken Alfredo or saucy beef and broccoli. Send us sides like cheesy bacon red potatoes and creamy, cheesy grits. And the slow cooker does dessert, like your famous ooey-gooey s’mores cake. Low-and-slow French toast bakes, hash brown casseroles and Buffalo chicken meatballs make our wish list, too. If rules it’s a slow-cooker standout and is about 10 ingredients or less, share away! Be sure to read the contest rules. I know those ingredient limits can be tough, as long as you can get close to the number we’ll take a peek at your recipe. It’s been our experience that our readers just don’t like to make recipes with multiple steps or lengthy ingredient lists. If you have a super recipe with a long list of ingredients, shoot me a message and we’ll brainstorm a way to condense things without losing your flavors. On that note... Happy cooking, my friends!
