FIELD EDITOR NEWSLETTER OCTOBER 2018
Field Editor News You Can Use:

Hello Field Editors!

Good News!

Several of you contacted me to let me know you were having issues submitting recipes. The web team found an issue with the site that wasn’t allowing your recipe submissions to go through, and that has been fixed. Hooray!!! If you tried to submit any new recipes between July 25th and October 8th, you’ll need to submit those again. Before you start a recipe submission from scratch, check your online recipe box. If they’re there, just give them a quick edit to push them through.

Review Issues

We also learned that our recipe review issue has been fixed. However, several of you have messaged to let me know that you were still having some intermittent issues with the submit button. The next time that happens, I need you to fill out this quick report. The questions are pretty simple, but we need to give the techs more information to help sort out what’s happening.

Halloween Reminder

Don’t forget! We really need cute, non-gory Halloween ideas. These can be your original ideas or something you find on Pinterest. You can share a link to something cute using this form or submit your original creation aka recipe, to the misc. category. Be sure to put Halloween Cuties in the notes section so we can find it.

Recipe Contest Rundown

Air Fryer Recipe Contest continues until November 1, 2018. Last call for this one. Just between you and me, there isn’t much for competition so far. You guys have a good chance to pull off a winner. How about pizza logs, fiery chicken nuggets or garlicky steak bites; melty sandwiches or sweet pudgy pies? There’s practically no limit to what you can do with this appliance.

You can enter the Everyday Fresh Contest right through Thanksgiving. (that’s November 27, 2018). Don’t forget, there’s a dessert category for this one. Apples, pumpkins, pears and grapes are peak now. I know for fact that we don’t have many Concord grape recipes—anyone make a mean grape cobbler?

The Best-Ever Baking Contest ends December 13, 2018. This doesn’t have to be sweets—savory baked goods count, too. If you make the butteriest biscuits or the fluffiest bread, we want the recipe.

NEW: Breakfast for Dinner Contest just started. I don’t know about you guys, but breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I’m a sucker for a good corned beef hash. Because we have so many breakfast recipes on the site, I encourage you to do a quick search for your idea before you submit. If you’re looking for a challenge, this contest is definitely it.

Last but not least, it’s OK to shoot me a question via Facebook, but for anything other than a quick opinion about something you’re working on please, please email me. Once I read those Facebook messages, they tend to get buried; then, ZOOM, they’re gone forever. If you email me, I can take care of your request during business hours without worrying that I’ve missed the message somewhere.

Happy cooking, my friends!
