FIELD EDITOR NEWSLETTER APRIL 2018
Field Editor News You Can Use:

Hello Field Editors,

Has spring arrived at your house yet? It’s teasing here, my chives are poking through last year’s leftovers in the herb bed. Maple syrup season is winding down. I was hoping to hit up the pancake house but time goes so fast, we haven’t been able to make the trip. We like to visit Cartwright’s Maple Tree Inn for buckwheat pancakes and real maple syrup. So good. Do you have a favorite maple recipe? This Maple Baked Oatmeal is a new favorite here. I love the fact that it uses maple syrup instead of sugar.

While I love spring, it also brings along my least favorite part of this job. This is the time of year I have to review our team and make sure everyone’s an active participant. Remember, you must be actively reviewing and submitting recipes to be part of the program. If it’s been over a year since you’ve participated in one of those activities, I need to hear from you if you want to stay on the roster. Shoot me an email so we can chat.

Recipe hunters, we need your eyes again. We’re looking for recipes that would work in either an electric pressure cooker (like an Instant Pot) or using an air fryer. Recipes like this Chicken Burrito Skillet recipe would be easy to convert to the pressure cooker. Same idea with these Contest-Winning Crispy Chicken Fingers and an air fryer. Use the Recipe Hunter form to send us links to recipes you think could be converted. Feel free to add any tips you have in the comments section of the form.

Be sure to check out the new contests. I’ve listed three new ones below. Plus, there’s still time to enter the Healthy Your Way contest—get your recipes entered before May 7, 2018. If your recipe is perfect for a specific diet plan, be sure to add a note about it. Maybe it’s a perfect keto recipe or maybe it’s low in Weight Watchers points. Everything is fair game in that one. You can choose from diabetic friendly (low added sugar), heart healthy (low fat), allergy friendly (without gluten, egg, dairy, etc.), paleo friendly, low carb (keto, Atkins), vegan/vegetarian, low sodium (kidney or heart healthy) and miscellaneous. As always, if you have any questions about your entry, shoot me an email.

Happy cooking, my friends!

PS: Parents, what’s cookin’ at your house? We’d love to hear about your kids’ favorite meals and snacks, plus what they cook themselves. Sorry gang, fur-kids don’t count for this one. Please take a peek at this quick 10-question survey by Friday, April 13.
