Hello fellow Field Editors,
Tips Wanted!
Halloween is just a couple weeks away, we want tricks AND treats! What are your favorite tricks for making Halloween spooky and fun (family friendly, not gross & gory please). Do you package your treats a special way? Do you make fun, Halloween themed meals? Pack a lunch with flair? Join the conversation in our Facebook group, we can’t wait to hear about your fun. Looking for fun ways to celebrate Halloween, we have the perfect treats for you. Find them here.
Back-to-School Suppers Recipe Contest: Recipes need to be submitted by November 16th.
We’re looking for your brilliant dinner ideas that make school nights so much easier. Show us your smarts by turning five little ingredients into chicken with cornbread waffles, grilled steak with pineapple couscous or cheesy chorizo-stuffed poblanos. Or get speedy with 30-minute chicken enchilada calzones, creamy pesto shrimp and pulled pork shepherd’s pie.
This time of year, the slow cooker is your best friend. Cook low and slow all day and come home to sausage meatball sliders or spiced chicken stew with corn and carrots. And cleanup’s a breeze when everything comes together in just one pot—think Cuban mojo chops with rice or your chili-spaghetti mashup meal.
If your recipe makes busy nights easier and little faces smile, send it our way here! Be sure to read through the contest rules and remember, do not submit recipes to this contest that you have submitted to other contests.
Tasty Ten Time!
We need your best cereal treat twists. This will be for an upcoming Tasty Ten article, so they need to be short (just one or two lines). Check out page 64 of the September/October issue for an example. What’s a cereal treat? Check them out here. These need to be out-of-the box ideas, so stay away from Rice Crispies, Cheerios or Pebbles. Do you use a sweetener other than marshmallows? Honey or maple syrup, perhaps? What about flavors? Do you have a way (other than drink mix) to switch that up? Share your favorite twists in our Facebook group. Not on Facebook? Feel free to send your ideas to me fieldeditors@tasteofhome.com.
