Hello fellow Field Editors,
Is everyone surviving the summer heat? It’s been cooler here in the northeast, but it has been humid as all get-out. What’s your favorite hot weather meal? Mine has been grilled chicken on a garden salad. For Ellie, it’s been grilled steak tacos. Sarah loves the classic BLTs, and Emily reaches for old-fashioned tuna macaroni salad. Hop over to the Facebook group and chat about cool summertime meals. If you still need to join the group, let me know.
The Summer Sides contest is open for one more month. Think about a fun, new twist on a classic panzanella or maybe something low-carb or low-sugar. Low-carb diets are making a big comeback right now and we are getting a lot of requests for recipes. Can you think of ways to update a classic broccoli salad? Ditch the sugar, maybe use a touch of honey for sweetness instead? Have an idea but not sure? Message me and we’ll work through it together. Contest deadline is September 8.
We are aware that some of you are having issues with the "submit" button: you get a spinning ball, it skips the information verification page or it does nothing at all. The web team is aware of the issue and they are trying to sort it out. Most of the time, if the recipe ends up in your recipe box, there’s a pretty good chance we received it. If you have problems with the "submit" button and are unsure if your recipe went through, shoot me a message and I will check the following business day.
Remember you should only be submitting recipes we have not published before. If we have already published your recipe, it’s no longer eligible for current contests and callouts. When in doubt, ask me. I’m happy to clarify for you.
Here are some tips to save you time (yay!):
If you need to update a recipe submission to add new ingredients or new instructions to the method, log in to TasteofHome.com and click on your name at the top. It should say "Hello: Suzy Field Editor." Select My Recipe Box from the drop-down menu. A list of all your saved and personal recipes will appear. There’s a grey box under the name of each recipe that says "Options.” If the recipe is one of your personal recipes, you’ll be able to select "Edit" from the list. Select "Edit" and edit the recipe. Save your changes.
If you would like to add a previously submitted recipe to a new callout, you can log in and select the recipe in My Recipe Box as instructed above and select "Submit to a Contest" under the list of options. It will take you to the Recipe Submit page and you can follow the steps from there.
Please reach out to me if you have questions!
Happy cooking, my friends!
