Hello, fellow Field Editors!

A whole year!!! We’ve been working together for an entire year—can you believe it? Is it just me or has it flown by? Seems like just yesterday I was introducing myself, and bam here we are, December. We’ve accomplished so much as a team, too. Can you believe we’ve submitted 2,407 recipes this year? Even more exciting, 184 of them made it to the pages of one of our publications (that’s 22 more than 2014). Definitely give yourselves a pat on the back for this.

In addition to all of those recipes, we came together as a team on Facebook. We got to know each other; we shared ideas and a bunch of laughs. I can’t tell you what a pleasure it’s been to get to know you all better. If you’re not a member yet, send me the email address you use with your Facebook account so you can join the fun.

There were contests and promotions (with fabulous prizes), parties and celebrations on a grand scale and at more intimate levels. Heck, some of you even hosted cyber get-togethers! Your imagination and creativity never cease to amaze me.

Now, because it’s the end of the year, I need you to do a couple of things for me.
  1. Make sure we have a recent picture of your beautiful face. A nice, close shot of you smiling proudly.
  2. Make sure we have your correct address, email and phone number. It’s important that we can get in touch with you.
  3. Send me an email and tell me what you loved about being a Field Editor this year and let me know if there’s anything you think we could do better.
  4. Go to the Cook’s Corner forum and tell me about the best recipe you cooked this year.
  5. Last and most important, give yourself a big hug from me! You’ve made me unbelievably proud to be your leader this year.
And of course there’s something in it for you! For each of the to-do’s you complete by Dec. 15, we’ll enter you into a drawing for a pretty fantastic holiday goodie box from the home office. I’m giving everybody a free entry for No. 5 right off the bat! Once you’ve completed all five tasks, go to the Field Editor Forum and add your “I did it” to the “Did you do it?” thread. I’ll be sure to get your entries into the drawing.

Get Cookin'

With Thanksgiving just over a week ago and Christmas a couple of weeks away there is no doubt in my mind that you’re cooking up a storm. This month I want you to focus on you and spending time with your family. If you have free time and recipes to submit, you can see all of our current requests by clicking here. We welcome your creations. Note the Taste of Home recipes you’re making so you can hit the ground running in January. We had an awesome 2015. Together we can make 2016 a banner year!

Oh my gosh, you guys, I’m so excited for these two books. The topics embrace two of my favorite things, comfort food and one-pan wonders.
