Hello, fellow Field Editors!

First and foremost, I need to thank Ellie Martin Cliffe for filling in for me, and thank all of you for the cards and good wishes you sent while I was out. I'm truly humbled by the outpouring of love and support. What a great team you are! You make me proud.

We're halfway through our first year together, and I'm happy to report that as a team we've submitted over 800 recipes so far. That's amazing! If you're anything like I am, you probably have a stash of recipes waiting to be submitted. I'm planning to sit on the porch this weekend with my notebook (and a nice glass of something) so I can put the finishing touches on mine and get them submitted. Time seems to get away from me so easily these days. Isn't summer the time to relax? Why don't you plan to join me? We'll meet online and enjoy one another's company while we get our recipes caught up.

Is anything stumping you? Are you having trouble rating or reviewing recipes? How about getting recipes submitted? Don't be afraid to email me, or reach out to me in our Facebook group or in the Field Editor forum in Community. Some of you have said you hate to bother me, but you're never a bother. I'm here to help you be a successful Field Editor, so if something's getting in your way, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Quick reminder that your best chance to be published is to keep the editorial team's recipe requests in mind; you can find the entire list by clicking here. Take a minute and browse through the requests. Make some mental notes while you're at family picnics and graduation parties, and keep your taste buds primed for delicious dishes that might fit one of the callouts. Then you can corner the cook and get her to share the recipe! See how my mind works? Ha!

And remember the contests, too. A couple of them are ending soon, Fresh From the Garden on July 21 and Patriotic Potluck on Aug. 4. Don't miss your chance to win $500!

Here's where we stand with last month's requests:

Summer Pies: x submissions

Meatless Meals: X submissions

Favorite Grilling: X submissions

Be sure to check out this month's requests, below.

Happy cooking, my friends!
