Hello, ##firstname[Friend]##!
Thank you, once again, for volunteering for the Taste of Home Field Editor program. It is great home cooks like you who share your recipes, stories, kitchen wisdom and passion for cooking that make Taste of Home the most popular food media brand in the world! |
Your volunteer position is very important to us, so there a few things we need you to bear in mind. They are spelled out in the following guidelines:
Volunteer Activities. As a Volunteer Field Editor, you have agreed to participate in the following activities:
Register as a member of tasteofhome.com, “Like” our Facebook Page and “Follow” our Pinterest Boards.
Submit at least 12 original recipes each year. (That’s 1 recipe per month, and submissions for our contests count! Note: Submitting recipes does not guarantee publication, but Field Editor recipes receive priority attention.)
Rate and review at least 3 recipes per month on tasteofhome.com; let other users know what you thought of the recipe, how you adjusted it for your family and if you used it for a holiday.
Be an active participant in the Taste of Home online community. Share your favorite Taste of Home recipes and cooking knowledge with other cooks on our site, Facebook pages, Pinterest pages and your blog if you have one!
Show other community members how you make our online recipe box and tools work for the way you like to cook. Encourage family and friends to register as members, submit recipes and rate/review recipes.
Share your favorite features in our magazines, books and other Taste of Home products.
Provide a recent photo of yourself.
Make new connections with other Volunteer Field Editors and community members who share the same passion for cooking! |
Originality of Recipe and Contest Submissions. We get some of the very best recipes from our Volunteer Field Editors! We simply ask that your recipe submissions be original (e.g. not lifted directly from a book, magazine or the internet). Your submission should include a few sentences about the recipe (why it's a favorite, what the family origin of the recipe is, etc.); ideally, a quality, current digital image of you should also accompany the submission. To submit your recipes, visit www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/add.
Volunteer Nature of the Field Editor Program. Your Field Editor position is a Volunteer position, so it is very important that you identify yourself in public forums as a Volunteer and not as an employee of Taste of Home or its parent company, Reader's Digest.
Public and/or Media Appearances. From time to time, you may be approached by the media (e.g. newspapers, radio, television, web sites, bloggers, or other online entities) to speak, either on behalf of Taste of Home or about recipes/cooking. It is important that if you are asked to do a public appearance of this nature, you contact Taste of Home prior to the appearance. If it is agreed upon that you will represent Taste of Home, we will present you with a Media Event Kit and product information. Please remember to call us before you accept any media appearances. Your contact is:

Social Media Activity. We recognize the importance of participating in these online conversations and are committed to ensuring that we do so in the right way. In general, we encourage you to use sound judgment and common sense. Keep in mind that the internet is permanent. Please treat it as if nothing is really private. Please avoid posts and comments that could be viewed as offensive. This includes ethnic slurs, personal insults, obscenities etc. It also includes potentially inflammatory remarks, including those about politics or religion. If you are promoting or endorsing Taste of Home or a Taste of Home product or promotion in a social space or blog, you must identify yourself in a social space as a Taste of Home Volunteer Field Editor, and make it clear that the views and opinions you express are yours alone and do not represent the official views of the brand. How exactly you do this is up to you. Additionally, do not disparage Taste of Home, Reader's Digest or our competitors.

If you understand these guidelines, please click on the I ACCEPT button below. By doing so, you agree that you are comfortable working within these guidelines. Your response to this communication is necessary for you to remain active in the Volunteer Field Editor Program. If you have any questions about the guidelines, please contact the Field Editor Coordinator.
Thank you for joining our team of Taste of Home Volunteer Field Editors. We look forward to a long and lasting relationship!
Best,
Catherine Cassidy
