Howdy Field Editors!

You’ve probably noticed some change in the air.  It seems as if we are constantly tweaking the Field Editor program. You may have noticed that the Field Editor badges were removed from your names in the FE Community Forum. That was a decision made by our digital team in efforts to protect Taste of Home from legal issues.

We have to be very careful that we aren’t posting/sharing photos or recipes that aren’t Taste of Home recipes; we have to be careful about certain comments, etc. With the rapid growth of the digital world, our legal team is extremely cautious about how the brand is represented from the Field Editors to the staff of the magazine to the editors of our Facebook page, and more. We’re all being asked to adapt to change.

We know that badge means a lot and we are working to create specific guidelines for you—and new projects/product testing—and perhaps with a goodie or two from us in recognition of your work. Our goal is to make sure the Field Editor program works to build and promote the brand in a positive way. And to make sure that you know how much we appreciate your efforts. We appreciate your patience as we fine-tune the program and guidelines.

But you do have a big opportunity to flaunt your Field Editor status in the magazine. We’re hoping to include more Field Editor quotes and recipes in future issues. So please be sure to send in recipes when we request them.

You also may have noticed that we are asking you to provide recipes to us at Tasteofhome.com/submit rather than sending them via email. We are a very small staff and this is a much more efficient way of getting the recipes directly into our recipe database. We’d love it if you could help us out.

  • Do you make someone you love a super happy birthday cake for a summer birthday? We’re looking for a fun cake for next summer’s issue.
  • Do you live on or close to an apple orchard? We're hoping you can be our go-to FE for all things apple! Send us your fab fall recipes that are all about apples: main dishes, sides and desserts.
  • What’s your after-work meal you know can be done in 30 minutes or less? Send us your Easy Weeknight specials.
  • We’re hoping to mark Grandparents Day with recipes your kids make for their grandparents. Got recipes and photos of the kids with grandma or grandpa?
  • What about breakfast for dinner? Tell us about your favorite egg, pancake, French toast, fruit and/or sausage dish you serve at the end of the day.

Submit your recipes at Tasteofhome.com/submit. Please include some details on why your recipe is a hit (or add a tip for other readers). And put the subject in the description/notes box. For example, this month the subjects are:

  • Summer Birthday
  • Apples
  • Easy Weeknight
  • Grandparents Day
  • Breakfast for Dinner
