FIELD EDITOR NEWSLETTER | March 25, 2011 |
|||||
Hi everyone, Hope this newsletter finds you well. While the days warm up and the snow’s almost melted here in Greendale, we’re already talking about tailgating, Thanksgiving turkey—and beyond. Which leads me to this next item: WHAT’S YOUR RESOLUTION? Did you make a New Year’s resolution that’s food-related? Or do you already have one in mind for next year? Maybe you want to learn a new technique or how to eat with chopsticks. Perhaps you’d like to teach your child to cook, or break out of the same old rut when it comes to meat loaf.
CLOSE TO HOME
The “Close to Home” section of Taste of Home always opens with a short story or kitchen memory from one of our readers. They’re often heart-warming, like Field Editor Judy Batson’s touching story in the Feb/March issue. Sometimes they are fun and funny, like Field Editor Kallee Twiner’s tale of passing the fruitcake. FIELD EDITOR FORUM—JOIN THE FUN! Below are some recent discussion topics you can get involved with in our private I'd like to introduce you to Sarah James... Go to topic. How often do you try out a new recipe? Go to topic. A girl in my son's class at school is allergic to eggs and tree/peanuts. So what is a good substitution for eggs in homemade treats? Go to topic CLOSE ENCOUNTERS Have you been recognized in public as these Field Editors have? We want to hear your stories. Please send them to fieldeditors@tasteofhome.com and put “Close Encounters” in the subject line.
“My friend’s daughter got married last year to a man from the eastern part of the state. (We live in the west.) She received the Taste of Home Cookbook as a shower gift, and as her husband glanced through it, he noticed a recipe for Cherry Pie with my name and town. He asked, ‘Do you know her?’ She said she most certainly did.” —Frances Poste, Wall, South Dakota
FIELD EDITOR FUN If you’ve held a class, appeared on local television or in the newspaper, spoke at an event or promoted Taste of Home some other way in your community, please let us know about it, like these women did:
* Sue Ross of Casa Grande, Arizona, was featured on the front page of her local newspaper on Dec. 24, 2010. The story told about her work on the town’s annual Christmas Day dinner for the homeless. She has been volunteering with this project since 1994.
MOVING? Please remember that, if you are moving, you must do two things: |
