By now, you might have tried some of the wonderful warm-ups in our Feb/March issue. As always, we’d like to know what you’ve found most appetizing in the issue, so drop us an E-mail or post a comment in our private Field Editor Forum. -------------------------- FUTURE FOOD TOPICS -------------------------- We’re excited about the terrific topics we’ve lined up for upcoming issues of Taste of Home, so let’s jump right into our wish list. Please share your best, most creative recipes (and tips) in these categories. E-mail recipes to fieldeditors@tasteofhome.com. Remember to include your name, phone number and mailing address on each recipe along with the category name. Please put “newsletter response” on the subject line ALONG WITH YOUR STATE ABBREVIATION. Deadline for submissions is Friday, March 19. FROZEN BREAD DOUGH: How do you dress-up frozen dough from the grocery store? Do you add seasonings? Or make a braided bread? Send us your most requested recipes. FESTIVE APPETIZERS: Do you have a favorite appetizer or snack recipe for the holiday season that is lower in calories but still delivers great taste? What is your “go-to” recipe when entertaining? CREATIVE COOKIES: The holidays may be a long way off, but we’re already planning for our Christmas issue. Do you have a cute or creative way you decorate Christmas sugar cookies? Do you have a tried-and-true method of making them look special? Please share your ideas. DICKENS CHRISTMAS: Charles Dickens’ tale of Ebenezer Scrooge is so much a part of the Christmas season that we want to put together an old-fashioned English holiday meal. We’re looking for traditional favorites such as Yorkshire pudding, steamed pudding, roast goose, prime rib, soup, side dishes, wassail and more. ROOT VEGETABLES: These often-overlooked earthy delights, including parsnips, rutabaga and turnips, can be turned into some wonderful stews, soups and sides. Please send us the recipes you make again and again. -------------------------- CLOSE TO HOME -------------------------- Last issue, we invited you to send in stories for this heartwarming page. We’re also looking for a story that shares fond memories of family Hanukkah celebrations. If you have a story to tell about your heritage, send it to fieldeditors@tasteofhome.com; don’t forget to type “Close to Home” on the subject line of your E-mail. -------------------------- FIELD EDITOR FORUM FUN -------------------------- Join in! We want to hear about it! Send your story to fieldeditors@tasteofhome.com. • “Last October, I helped prep food at a Taste of Home Cooking School in my hometown. During the show, I was asked to help with a recipe on stage, and the culinary specialist told everyone I was a Field Editor. Several people know that about me, but one friend from my old neighborhood came up to me after the show and said, “You didn’t tell me that you were famous!” It made her day—and mine.” —Tammy Baker, Bowling Green, KY • “I went into a local parts store one day, and as I walked in, the woman behind the counter said, “Well, hello! If it isn’t the celebrity. I saw your picture in Taste of Home.” —Alpha Wilson, Roswell, NM • “My husband, Gary, is a farm equipment mechanic for John Deere and is on the road almost everyday. One day, he was working underneath a tractor when the farmer’s wife came out. The farmer introduced her to Gary, and she got a funny look on her face. ‘Gary Seymour?’ she said. ‘You don’t know a Susan Seymour, do you?’ He said, ‘Sure, she’s my wife.’ The woman explained that she knew my name from Taste of Home.” —Susan Seymour, Valatie, NY That’s it for this issue.
