Make sure to put “Comfort Food Diet” in the subject line of your E-mail. --------------------- COOKING SCHOOLS http://www.tasteofhome.com/Cooking-Schools?pmcode=##keycode## Several Field Editors have been asking, “What do Field Editors actually do at a Taste of Home Cooking School when they are asked to help?” Field editors work backstage setting up the recipes that will be demonstrated and also have the opportunity to help the Culinary Specialist assemble one dish on stage. Awynne Thurstenson of Siloam Springs, AR gave a wonderful step-by-step description of her experience at a Cooking School on our private Field Editor Forum. “If you love to cook, it is great fun,” she writes. “The backstage camaraderie is worth the work. I’ve done it several times and will help again in November.” Read Awynne’s complete report at http://community.tasteofhome.com/forums/t/731370.aspx If you don’t have access to the forum (i.e. you get an error message when you click on the above link), please contact Erik at Erik_Bergstrom@rd.com and he’ll get you set up. --------------------- CLOSE ENCOUNTERS If you've been spotted in the community like these ladies have, please share your story by sending an E-mail to fieldeditors@tasteofhome.com. Please put "Close Encounters" in the subject line. I’ve had many phone calls asking me for various things. Once, someone was looking for a particular recipe in one of the issues. She couldn’t remember the name, but after she described the recipe, I was able to search my magazines and find it for her. —Donetta Brunner, Savanna, IL The company I work for often has employees do ‘Chef Tables’ in our cafe. When it was my turn, I did an entire meal from Taste of Home. Many of the employees were wowed to find out that they were being fed by a Taste of Home Field Editor! Now, they often ask me cooking questions and for ideas on how to use certain ingredients. —Vikki Rebholz, West Chester, OH That’s it for now. See you next month!
