It’s barely September, but at my house the autumn planning is well underway. My kids are starting to think about Halloween costumes, and I am mapping out the best places to pick apples. What can I say? They really love fall, and I do not want to miss out on Honeycrisp season!

To get you into the spirit, look for our October/November issue of Birds & Blooms, arriving in your mailbox soon. It’s our special owl issue and is packed full of owl tidbits including fun trivia, gorgeous photos and even tips for going on an owl prowl.

As you’re waiting for your issue to arrive, take a few minutes to check out this month’s special Plus stories (below), for subscribers only. Enjoy!
