Dear $$firstname$$

I'd like to personally welcome you to our online community. As a Birds & Blooms subscriber, you're entitled to receive this exclusive subscriber-only newsletter each month, free with your magazine subscription. Using the links in the newsletter is the easiest way to enjoy all your Birds & Blooms Plus online benefits. In each monthly Plus newsletter, you’ll find bonus features, more beautiful bird and flower photos, expert advice and “insider information” to compliment your current magazine issue. It's our way of saying "Thanks for being a loyal subscriber!"

I’ve tried to take pictures of the hummingbirds at my feeders, but they never come close to capturing the alluring beauty of these birds. Typically, the photos turn out dark and distant—a predictable result considering I’m trying to take the photos through a window, aiming at a feeder that’s at least 5 feet away. This summer, though, I’m going to try again, this time armed with a better camera and tips from talented amateur photographer, Mark Bettis. He’s featured on page 30-31 of our June/July issue and he offers his Top Tips for Hummingbird Photos in this edition of Birds & Blooms Plus. Also in Plus, learn Why Birds Sing from George Harrison and discover amazing Southwest Hummingbirds.

Speaking of these great birds, you can also learn 13 Great Blooms they love and get a Bonus Container Recipe, specifically with hummingbirds in mind.

Finally, don’t forget to get 9-year-old Eric’s Great Bird Feeder Plan, and Grow an Animal Garden with ideas from a clever reader.
