Dear $$firstname$$

I'd like to personally welcome you to our online community. As a Birds & Blooms subscriber, you're entitled to receive this exclusive subscriber-only newsletter each month, free with your magazine subscription. Using the links in the newsletter is the easiest way to enjoy all your Birds & Blooms Plus online benefits. In each monthly Plus newsletter, you’ll find bonus features, more beautiful bird and flower photos, expert advice and “insider information” to compliment your current magazine issue. It's our way of saying "Thanks for being a loyal subscriber!"

A couple years back, we got a call at the office from a neighbor asking if we wanted to come see the great-horned owl nest in their yard. We were there the next afternoon.

I crouched near a tree with a trio of Birds & Blooms staff as we trained our binoculars on the owl’s nest. After only 15 minutes of waiting, a huge owl came swooping out of the nest, gliding past the trees on outstretched wings.

Seeing a great-horned owl soar is an amazing bird-watching experience. And the silent way they do it is one of the many attributes that make owls so special.

If you’re a subscriber to Birds & Blooms EXTRA, you’ll soon see why I have owls on the mind. We have some special owl features in the March issue. See below for more great features related to that issue. Even if you’re not an EXTRA subscriber, we still have some great bonus material to share with you this month. Build a Fairy Tale Birdhouse, get easy tips on Spring Cleaning for Birds and enjoy some great Spring Poetry from readers.
